About Metro Carvers Club


The purpose of the Metro Carvers of Michigan, Inc. is to promote wood carving or shaping and share knowledge in the artistic use of wood through meetings, shows, competition, discussions, workshops, and other opportunities.

Mission Statement
Metro Carvers of Michigan is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the art of woodcarving in the metropolitan Detroit area.  The club fosters camaraderie among woodcarvers, enables members to improve their skills, and promotes woodcarving to the public.  To this end, the club holds monthly meetings at which different aspects of carving are explored through guest speakers, it maintains a multimedia library available to all members st the meetings, it holds a monthly competition to evaluate members recent works, and publishes a monthly newsletter.  The club is exposed to the public through an annual show at which members and other carvers can display their craft to the public at large and with various other outreach programs.  Beginners are welcome.  Membership is open to all.

Club meetings are held on the second Tuesday each month, from September through June.  The meetings begin at 7:15 pm (doors open at 6:30).  Meetings are held a:
